How we rank

Our methodology.

We rank every licensed operator we cover against the public record, on a 0–10 scale built from five weighted dimensions. Scores are editorial and independent — operators cannot pay for placement, and commission rates do not influence rankings.

What we score

Game catalogue
Library size, provider mix, and live-table depth — verified against operator lobbies and provider lists, not marketing copy.
Cashier & payouts
Withdrawal speed, fees, and friction. Operator-claimed windows are labelled as claims until our independent cashout benchmark is complete.
Live dealer
Studio coverage (Evolution, Playtech, Ezugi and others) and table variety available to Ontario players.
Support response
Channels offered, hours, and documented response behaviour from public reports.
Mobile experience
App availability and app-store ratings across iOS and Android.

Where our data comes from

Every review is sourced from material that anyone can check: the iGaming Ontario (iGO) operator registry, AGCO enforcement notices and monetary-penalty records, operators' own published cashier terms, and public app-store data. Claims we cannot independently verify are attributed inline as claims.

Our independent cashier benchmark — a structured series of real-money cashouts measuring median payout time, same-day rate, fees, and friction events — is in progress. Until a given operator has been through that test, its cashier-benchmark fields read "pending live test" rather than carrying invented numbers.

The cashier benchmark protocol

"Cashier & payouts" is the one dimension we will not score on operator claims alone. Our benchmark is a controlled, real-money test, and every published figure is computed from a logged withdrawal — never hand-entered.

How the test runs:

  • Real money, real accounts. An editor funds a real account at the operator and makes genuine withdrawals — no simulations or estimates.
  • Sample. We target 40 cashouts per operator over a rolling six-week window, across a range of amounts.
  • Rails. We test the operator's main supported methods, led by Interac e-Transfer (the Canadian default), and record which rail each cashout used.
  • Timing. We log the exact request and received timestamps for every withdrawal.

What each figure means:

  • Median payout — the middle request-to-received time across all completed cashouts.
  • Same-day rate — the share of cashouts received within 24 hours.
  • Average fees — the mean fee charged across cashouts, in Canadian dollars.
  • Friction events — the count of KYC re-requests, manual holds, support contacts, or failed attempts encountered during testing.

These four figures feed the operator's cashier-and-payouts score. Until an operator has logged cashouts, its benchmark reads "pending live test," and we treat the operator's own published windows as claims rather than findings. The one-time identity check (KYC) on a first withdrawal reflects verification, not payout speed, so it is noted separately rather than counted as the median.

What we don't do

  • We do not sell rankings or accept payment for placement or higher scores.
  • We do not display bonus amounts or "risk-free" language, in line with AGCO advertising Standard 2.05.
  • We do not publish fabricated statistics, fake review counts, or AI-generated reviews under a human byline.
  • We do not present operator marketing as independent testing.
