The product
BetRivers was one of the day-one operators on Ontario’s regulated iGaming market when it opened on April 4, 2022. The brand belongs to Rush Street Interactive, Inc. (NYSE: RSI), a Chicago-based online gambling company founded in 2012 by Neil Bluhm, Greg Carlin, and Richard Schwartz as the digital arm of Rush Street Gaming, a land-based casino developer. RSI launched its first online product — PlaySugarHouse — in New Jersey in 2016, and BetRivers has since become its flagship brand across thirteen US states plus Ontario.
The Ontario operating entity is Rush Street Interactive Canada, ULC, per the iGO operator registry (verified May 7, 2026), holding AGCO licence OPIG1233054. The registry lists a single BetRivers brand offering both casino and sports betting. RSI registered a Canadian corporate presence in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and went live on day one of the regulated market.
What sets BetRivers apart is less about catalogue scale and more about operating reputation. RSI has twice won EGR North America’s Customer Service Operator of the Year, and the BetRivers product is consistently praised for clean design and a strong loyalty program (iRush Rewards). It is a loyalty- and sports-led operator where the casino is a competent companion product rather than the slot-volume headline that LeoVegas or Caesars lead with.
We have not lived with BetRivers Ontario through our six-week test window. The 8.5/10 rating is preliminary, built from public registry data, BetRivers’ own published payment and support pages, app store ratings, and the AGCO’s enforcement record. The cashier benchmark grid is placeholder data and will be populated only after we complete a funded test cycle.
Games & live dealer
BetRivers has the most inconsistently reported game catalogue of any operator we’ve reviewed, and we are not going to paper over that with a confident number. Casino.org’s 2026 review headlines “700+ games.” Casino.ca provides a detailed breakdown of “900+ games” comprising ~100 slots, 70+ table games, and 680+ live dealer tables. Several affiliate sites claim “3,000+” with “2,500 slots.” These figures are not reconcilable — the casino.ca breakdown implies a slot-light, live-heavy catalogue, while the affiliate claims imply a slot-dominated one.
Our honest read: the credible sources cluster around 700–900 total titles, so we report ~900 as a working figure and flag that the true slot count is genuinely unclear. If accurate, that places BetRivers’ library well below the market leaders — LeoVegas (~3,000+), Caesars (~2,700), BetMGM (~2,500), and 888 (~2,000). The supply side includes NetEnt, IGT, Konami, and Big Time Gaming.
The live dealer suite, by contrast, is a consistent strength. BetRivers runs Evolution Gaming and Ezugi (an Evolution-owned studio), including exclusive BetRivers-branded blackjack tables, and the live offering is one of the larger in the province on most counts. Whether it is “100+” or “680+” tables depends entirely on how variants and seats are tallied — but it is unambiguously a deep live offering.
Cashier & payouts
BetRivers’ cashier is a relative strength, and it avoids the deposit-only Interac limitation that hobbles LeoVegas. Per the operator’s published terms:
- Payment methods: Interac e-Transfer, Visa, Mastercard, American Express (rare in this market), online banking, and PayPal — most supporting both deposit and withdrawal.
- Minimum withdrawal: C$10.
- Limits: Interac up to C$25,000, online banking up to C$100,000, PayPal with no stated maximum.
- Speed: BetRivers states it processes withdrawals within 24 hours; Interac and PayPal cashouts often reach players within minutes once approved.
- Fees: none.
The Amex acceptance, no-fee policy, and fast Interac/PayPal rails make this one of the more convenient cashiers among the operators we cover. We have not yet run our cashier benchmark on BetRivers; the medianPayout, sameDayRate, and frictionEvents fields are placeholders set to “Pending live test.” Treat the within-minutes Interac claim as the operator’s statement, not our finding.
Support & mobile
Support is BetRivers’ standout, and it is backed by external recognition: RSI has won EGR North America’s Customer Service Operator of the Year twice. Live chat connections reportedly come in under a minute, and the quality is consistent during peak hours. One honest caveat: despite some sources claiming 24/7 support, the more specific reports put live chat at 9:30 AM–2 AM ET — roughly 16.5 hours a day, strong but not overnight. Email (support@betrivers.com) and an on-site help centre round out the channels.
Mobile is the other clear strength, and unusually for this market, it is strong on both platforms. The combined BetRivers casino-and-sportsbook app rates 4.7–4.9 on iOS and 4.6 on Android. That cross-platform consistency is rare — Caesars, DraftKings, and LeoVegas all show meaningfully weaker Android scores than iOS. BetRivers’ app is frequently praised for clean, uncluttered design, consistent with the brand’s overall product philosophy.
Compliance record
BetRivers joins the short list of clean operators. We surfaced no published AGCO monetary penalty against BetRivers or Rush Street Interactive Canada, ULC in Ontario through searches of the AGCO’s enforcement notices, news releases, monetary-penalties schedule, and the iGaming complaints page, as of the publication date of this review.
That makes BetRivers one of only four operators with a clean public AGCO record among those we cover — alongside bet365, 888, and Caesars. For contrast, DraftKings (C$100,000), BetMGM (C$48,000 + C$110,000), FanDuel (C$350,000), and LeoVegas (C$25,000) have each been fined at least once.
One point of precision so we do not overstate the clean record: RSI’s parent group has faced regulatory action elsewhere — notably a US$13,800 Pennsylvania penalty in 2025 for failing to submit a required licence-renewal application for an executive. That is a US administrative matter, unrelated to Ontario and unrelated to player-facing conduct, and we mention it only so the “clean record” claim is properly scoped to the AGCO. Within Ontario, BetRivers’ public record is clean.
As always, absence of public enforcement is not proof of flawless operation — AGCO actions can be private, settled, or pending — but a clean Ontario record over four years, combined with two customer-service awards, is a meaningful signal. We weight it accordingly.
We will update this section if and when the AGCO publishes anything new.
Verdict
For Ontario players who value award-winning customer service, a clean regulatory record, strong apps on whatever phone they own, a deep live dealer suite, and a genuinely robust loyalty program, BetRivers is one of the more well-rounded operators in the province. The 8.5/10 reflects excellent service, cashier, and mobile fundamentals held back primarily by a casino catalogue that is both smaller than the leaders and frustratingly hard to pin down across sources.
Who it suits: loyalty players (iRush Rewards is among the best), players who specifically value customer support, Android users who want an app that does not feel like an afterthought, and players who want fast full-Interac cashouts with Amex support.
Who it doesn’t suit: players who want the largest slot library (BetRivers trails every catalogue leader we cover), players who need overnight live support (chat closes at 2 AM ET), and players who want a casino-first rather than sports-and-loyalty-led product.
